We are working with the British Institute for Human Rights (BIHR) to support four London-based civil society organisations to harness the power of the law. Drawing on our combined expertise in human rights implementation, Just Fair and BIHR are honoured to lead this innovative five-year programme funded by the Baring Foundation and City Bridge Foundation.

The London Communities Human Rights Programme aims to train, resource, and support these organisations to design and implement tailored human rights-based approaches that drive meaningful social change.

• Community Plan for Holloway are supporting local residents to ensure their needs are heard, and their rights respected, by decision-makers in the redevelopment of the Holloway Prison site.
• Indoamerican Refugee and Migrant Organisation are embedding human rights principles into advice and casework across immigration, welfare, housing, and access to healthcare – empowering individuals to understand and claim their rights. 
• Southall Community Alliance are building borough-wide networks and spaces that enable local residents and organisations to realise their collective power, so they can advocate effectively for change.
• Unfold are developing innovative models for participatory governance that place their mentees at the centre of strategic decision-making and advocacy.

Together, we are developing programmes that put human rights into practice, strengthen people’s ability to claim their rights, and support communities to shape the decisions that affect them.

In 2026, as part of the the Racial Justice through Human Rights programme, Just Fair is supporting three community organisations with human rights-based projects that focus on turning rights into action and creating solutions for black and minoritised communities across South West England. The Racial Justice through Human Rights programme is a three-year programme funded by the Baring Foundation

The three partners we are excited to be working alongside in 2026 are:

• Stand Against Racism & Inequality (SARI), a charity that supports victim of hate crime across the South West. We’re working with them to build a peer learning network for community leaders, strengthening confidence to use human rights protections and amplify them in practice. This is about building collective power and ensuring communities have the tools to challenge discrimination and inequality.
• Black Equity Organisation (BEO), a national Black civil rights organisation working to dismantle systemic racism in Britain. We are working with BEO to bring together Windrush-impacted advocates in Bristol to address housing injustice, highlighting how structural barriers shape people’s lives and how collective action can drive change.
• Bristol Autism Centre, an organisation dedicated to providing support, understanding, and advocacy for individuals with autism. We’re working together on a culturally responsive autism support project grounded in human rights, demonstrating how services can be redesigned to reflect the needs and experiences of the communities they serve.

The Human Rights in the Community programme is a short, focused programme of support for charities already working on human rights issues and looking to deepen their understanding and practice of a rights-based approach. Our current partners are Creating Ground and Quaker Social Action. We are grateful to Tudor Trust for the funding that has made this programme possible. 

• We are working with Creating Ground to build a toolkit that captures and shares learning from their rights-based community-led actions that have informed policy and service design in Greenwich and beyond, to support participation and co-production between communities and local councils.
• We are supporting Quaker Social Action to embed a human rights-based approach in Cook Up – a food justice programme. Together, we are co-developing resources on rights-based community kitchen models and supporting people experiencing food insecurity to recognise and assert their human rights.

Just Fair supports partners to design and implement rights-based approaches to specific issues, and provides spaces to share their knowledge, reflect on their experiences, and learn from one another’s work. Through this, the programme strengthens organisations’ ability to apply human rights in practice – supporting people to claim their rights, improving how services are delivered, and helping communities influence the decisions that affect their lives.
