In July 2023 we launched a new joint publication with Greater Manchester Poverty Action ‘The socio-economic duty in action: case studies from England and Wales‘. Check out the launch event recording below, along with the report and accompanying blog:

This powerful film charts the progress of this diverse group of Community Researchers from across England as they examine human rights concepts, challenge what a ‘human rights-based approach’ means and write their own guide. In doing so they ‘claim the right to talk about rights’ and discuss a new game they’re developing to help other to claim their rights. 

In May 2023 we hosted an webinar for newly elected, and re-elected councillors and officers in England about the socio-economic duty. The event focused on how the duty can help local authorities target resources and interventions to begin to close the inequality gap.
