In July we launched our new joint publication The socio-economic duty in action: Case studies from England and Wales. Created in partnership with Greater Manchester Poverty Action (GMPA) the report brings together case studies from local authorities and public bodies in England who have voluntarily adopted the socio-economic duty, and from the Welsh Government who implemented the duty in Wales in 2021.

It gives practical examples of how the duty is being used across England and Wales in a wide variety of ways to tackle inequality. During the launch we heard from speakers including:

  • Contributors to the case studies in the report Mo Jogi from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service and Shairi Bowes from Salford City Council
  • Report authors Anna Lopez (GMPA) and Megan Isaac (Just Fair)
