We’re proud to announce our role as a member of the Foundational Alliance for the newly established Centre for People’s Justice, a groundbreaking initiative led by the University of Liverpool. This £5.8 million centre, supported by a £4.1 million award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), aims to make the UK’s legal system fairer, safer, and more inclusive.

A collaborative effort

The Centre for People’s Justice brings together a diverse coalition of 45 organisations spanning community, business, philanthropic, cultural, artistic, charitable, legal, governmental, and academic sectors. In collaboration with partner institutions—including the University of Glasgow, The University of Sheffield, Swansea University, Wrexham University, Ulster University, and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies—the centre will work across the UK to address pressing social and legal issues.

Unleashing power in communities through research and advocacy

The centre’s mission is to connect the public more closely with the laws and processes that govern their lives. By developing a creative programme of research and training, the centre seeks to improve accountability in the application of the law and enhance public understanding of legal rights. Key focus areas include food insecurity, low-waged work, tackling violence and conflict, and children’s rights.
