 #1forEquality is a campaign led by Just Fair and The Equality Trust, and supported by many groups and individuals, to urge the UK Government to implement the Socio-Economic Duty by commencing Section 1 of the Equality Act.

In the run up to the 2nd May 2019 elections we worked alongside Poverty2Solutions, approaching candidates for councillor and mayoral positions across the North East to promote the implementation of section 1 of the Equality Act 2010. See which candidates and councillors supported the campaign:

In total, 58 candidates and councillors across the region are #1forEquality, although not all names are listed on our website as not all names were given to us in the group photos. They have expressed their support for the socio-economic duty and 39 of them took part in individual or group photos.
